Innovation and development in the Doctoral Programs for Adapting the Scientific Research to the Knowledge Society Needs

The conference will have 2 sessions and will end with one workshop. Conference sessions:
I. Tradition and Innovation in the European Doctoral Schools from the Generic and Transversal
Competencies Development Perspective
II. The Doctoral Schools as Centers of Excellence

The papers of the first sessions will be focused on the way the doctoral schools try to answer, through their educational offer, to the young PhD students’ educational needs and to the knowledge society challenges. Through a detailed analyze perspective of the competences that each doctoral school builds, with and for students, there will be identified competences that best describe the researcher trained model that the doctoral institution prepares for professional integration.

The papers in the second session will be concerned with the most recent research directions that the doctoral schools propose the PhD students, as an inter‐ and trans‐ disciplinary approach.

On the October 23rd in the afternoon there will be organized the workshop: Editorial policies, research scientific visibility and professional success. The workshop is targeted on the doctoral school experts, PhD coordinators and PhD students. The facilitators and guests are the editors of known publications, referents of advisory or scientific publication committees. The workshop topics are: research deontology, editorial policies, articles selection process and intellectual property.

The Conference is organized within the project Innovation and development in the doctoral programs for adapting the scientific research to the knowledge society needs financed by the Operational sector Program‐ Developing Human Resource 2007 – 2013, Priority 1 „Education and training for economic increase and developing knowledge base society, Field of intervention “Doctoral and post doctoral research program”.

There are no participation fees and all the conference material will be distributed without any charge.
